Conclusions:

To hope for a r10 on your opinion whether we always do useful stuff on the lessons is a bit much, but it is of course the goal. Most of you find most of the lessons useful and that is good.

What is to be done to raise this figure?

You don’t seem to think that we had to few lectures, 3,76 indicates a small disagreement to that statement. On the other hand you either disagree or agree with the statement that we had to many. Normal amount of lectures is my conclusion.

The exercises in Traynor seem to be at a normal rate, you give the book a 7,12 and you see the purpose of the exercises. If anything you seem to think that the book should be used slightly more.

The lectures are not to detailed and not on a to basic level. A 7,18 indicates that most of you find the lectures good and informing, this is also something that I can read out from the comments. The statement “I learn much better if the teacher gives lectures and I take notes” gets a 6,12 a slight agreement but the statement  “I learn much better if get exercises that I can solve on my own on the lessons” gets 3,94. From this I can tell that the summary lectures are slightly more popular and useful than the exercises in Traynor.

Summary of two things to change:

You wish for more debates and discussions over historical issues and facts like the trial we had this week.

A majority of you writes this down, so I will try to see what I can come up with. If you have any ideas you are of course welcome to present them.

You want me to more thoroughly give you the “right answer” to the questions you answer in Traynor and on the texts I have handed out to you.

Go through more typical IB-questions.

Use more “outside” material.

Summary of two things to keep:

A majority of writes the summary handouts and the summary lectures. You also liked the trial against Stalin.

Summary of your opinion:

More group assignments, more discussions and more outside material. The balance we must keep between you working on your own and me giving lectures have according to the agree/disagree questions functioned well. But on here we can see a wish for more active work for you. I fully agree, I think that we had a tendency to get stuck in the answering of HOW things happened at the expense of WHY they happened. You will need both for your exam but the balance you be tipped over to more discussions around why things happened at the expense of how they happened. The answer to the question “How things happened” you can find out in the books, through videos etc. Lectures should continue to be summaries of the part we just deal with.

I am happy to see that you are interested in history and that you find the lessons useful and good.
