Read the handouts plus Morris etc. Join one of the groups:

1. You are pretending to be a worker in Germany 1933-39. Describe why you support Hitler and what he has done to make your life better. Why did people like you support Hitler? What about the things you don’t like about Nazism?
2. You are pretending to be a shop-owner in Berlin 1933-1939. You represent the typical middle class. Describe why you support Hitler and what he has done to make your life better. Why did people like you support Hitler? What about the things you don’t like about Nazism?
3. You are pretending to be a history teacher in school similar to Katedralskolan in Berlin 1933 – 39. Describe why you support Hitler and what he has done to make your life better. Why did people like you support Hitler? What about the things you don’t like about Nazism?
4. You are pretending to be a student at the same school. Describe why you support Hitler and what he has done to make your life better. Why did people like you support Hitler? What about the things you don’t like about Nazism?
5. You are a very rich upper class snob in Berlin 1933-39. Describe why you support Hitler and what he has done to make your life better. Why did people like you support Hitler? What about the things you don’t like about Nazism?
6. You are the owner of a small farm in Bavaria 1933-39. Describe why you support Hitler and what he has done to make your life better. Why did people like you support Hitler? What about the things you don’t like about Nazism?

Rules for all groups:

• Take into consideration if there are any differences if you were a man or a woman.
• None of you are Jews but you might have Jewish working friends etc.
• You should make a small presentation on Thursday this week, telling history from your own perspective. No longer than 10 minutes.
